In two weeks Valley fight fans will be able to get themselves another
12 10 fights scheduled for the card. Their last event was on March 16, 2013 which drew a pretty decent crowd and gate. According to an open record request provided by the TDLR, the promotion sold 418 tickets to their inaugural event which drew a gross gate of $16,310 and papered(gave away) 647 tickets. In case you’re wondering, the cash value of the tickets given away was $13,905. If JC Promotions is still willing to hand out 5 contracts valued at $50,000 for each weight division, they are going to have to start selling more tickets and getting more streams of revenue for this ambitious project to work.
Just like the last show, JC Promotions will be having a mix of valley fighters with a good majority of fighters coming in from out of town(so much for “Pride of the Valley”). The main event is headlined by Cody “Wolverine” Williams who fights out of Beaumont, Texas is coming off a successful bantamweight title defense for the IXFA Extreme Fighting promotion. His opponent will be D’Angelo De Souza Vieira who fights out of San Antonio. The c0-main events will have valley natives Leroy Martinez taking on Matt Mooney who had a Ronda Rousey like submission on Juan Chapa Jr at the first “Pride of the Valley” event. Valley favorite Dee Jay Fuentes will also be looking to bounce back after his title loss to Javier Obregon at last months STFC Mayhem show.
Stay tuned to The Gotch Special for more updates on this event.
