Boxingscene.com is reporting that “El Panteria” might be taking on the “Baby Bull” in Diaz’s hometown of Houston, Texas if things go according to plan. The plan is two have both fighters on the same card against different opponents and if both fighters are victorious the battle would then be setup.
Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz recent victory came in Corpus Christi against an unwilling opponent in Pipino Cuevas Jr. The 29 year old recently took a three year break from the sport but reports say he looked to be in good shape and showed no noticeable signs of ring rust.
Figueroa didn’t disappoint this past Saturday on the undercard of Canelo/Trout and made his presence known in the boxing world when he dropped the 2nd cousin of Miguel Cotto, Abner Cotto, with two brutal body shots. The Pride of Weslaco hardly broke a sweat in his 1st round KO and is 21-0-1.
