Underwood Promotions is back at the Austin Sports Center with two title fights headlining the event. According to BoxRec, the card is scheduled to have a total of 10 fights and will be featuring some local talent.
In the main event of the night, Albert Romero(8-3) of Austin will be taking on Marquis Hawthorne(5-6) out of Waco for Romero’s USA Texas State Super Lightweight Title. Romero captured the title this past May when he defeated Rege Harrison by unanimous decision. The Austin native will be entering this title defense with a six fight win streak that started back in 2015. Hawthrone earned this title shot with a victory on the same card that Romero won the title.
Serving as co-main event is Ali Akhmedov(7-0) and Curtis Hill Jr(10-0) for the vacant WBC Youth World Light Heavyweight Title. Both fighters have a history of knocking out their opponents so there should be plenty of fireworks in this contest but it wouldn’t surprise me to see this fight go the distance.
In a featured bout, Lessa Daniel(0-1) will be looking for her first professional victory against undefeated Briana Gonzalez(2-0-1) in a bantamweight tilt. there will be plenty of other fighters on the card that are climbing their way to the top of the boxing rankings. tickets can be bought online or at the door. I do recommend getting them online because last time the line to get in the venue was literally snaked around the building. Additionally, if you are worried about parking, Underwood Promotions has gone the extra mile and secured a remote parking location. They will also be providing a party bus to take you from the parking lot to the event all at no extra cost!
